The Magic of April

APRIL 2024

Soul Travellers

As we step into April, we find ourselves amidst a world in turmoil, with conflicts and tensions prevailing in various corners of the globe.

What is going on? Is it all coming together or is it all falling apart?

The current world zeitgeist seems to fluctuate rapidly between these two extremes: humanity is in a deadly spiral and humanity is evolving.

Where do you land on this pendulum and how does it affect you?

the Magic of April

Bringing awareness to the climate crisis, to wars, famines, political unrest, human rights crises(s) and so on can awaken us to the tumultuousness and tenuousness and may serve to motivate action in some small or grand way.

So, what to do? How to stay informed, but not overwhelmed and unable to digest all that we take in?

How does this have anything to do with yoga and can it support us in the face of all of this?

I certainly don’t have an answer. However, I believe that together, we can navigate these challenging times by anchoring ourselves in the wisdom of yoga. On April 8th, we will witness a powerful solar eclipse, a celestial event that often symbolizes endings and new beginnings. During such cosmic shifts, it’s natural to seek guidance and stability. Our ancestors, too, faced times of uncertainty, drawing strength from their spiritual practices to find resilience and inner peace.

Yoga offers us a sanctuary amidst the chaos—a space where we can turn our attention inward, reconnect with our bodies, and find solace in the rhythm of our breath. Through yoga, we cultivate mindfulness and compassion, not only towards ourselves but also towards those around us. In times of great upheaval, these qualities become invaluable tools for navigating the complexities of the world with grace and integrity.

It can support us in holding the apparent duality of coming together and falling apart.

So, I’ll be here, breathing and doing the work to keep my heart open and hands ready to hold those around me.

We are indeed, the ancestors of the future.

8 April – 2024 Solar Eclipse

Solar Eclipse

What is the energetic significance of a solar eclipse? Many ancient cultures around the world feared the solar eclipse. It is a time when the life-giving energies of the sun are temporary blocked out by the moon.

But it’s not a bad omen at all. In fact, there’s a deeper meaning to the whole solar eclipse. The sun is our ego – our healthy sense of identity that moves us forward in life. The moon is our intuitive side, deep subconscious emotions, and memory bank. So when a solar eclipse happens, it can bring forth hidden aspects of our psyche and repressed memories that were once concealed. It is a time to review the parts of the past that we have pushed aside and forgotten about. A time for introspection and soul-searching within.
