Mandala is a concentric diagram with spiritual and ritual significance. The word is of Hindu Sanskrit origin and means “essence”, “having” or “containing”. It can also be translated as “circle-circumference” or “completion”. It appears in the Rig Veda but is also used in other Hindu Religions, particularly Buddhism.
In Mandala yoga we sit in a circle as these classes open us into a deeper introspection as the energy moves around the circle.
This particular Mandala class will be focusing on supine, semi-supine, standing, balancing, forward folds asanas. Usually a long xavasana is offered. Be prepared to dive through layers of consciousness to discover that inner light that resides inside yourself.
